Ugh, the dreaded low back pain. Comes in all forms and does not discriminate! I’m willing to bet almost anyone reading this has dealt with low back pain at one point or another. Whether it’s a little tweak from the gym or playing a sport, or something that came on randomly and now you seem to deal with chronically, we’ve all been there.
So what gives!? Our backs and bodies are resilient, or at least they should be, and yet here we are, in pain!
Low back pain is like a snowflake. It’s unique to each individual. It could be from a disc, it could be from a facet (the joint at the attachment of one vertebrae to another), it could be muscular, it could be from a nerve, hek, it could be from stress or something mentally that is manifesting physically.
Catching my drift? Low back pain can present from a myriad of reasons.
As your Chiropractor, it is my job to assess and get to the bottom of where the pain is stemming from. No joke, it could be from your feet…or neck! Everything is connected!
If you know anything about me, you know that I love manual therapies. If you come in with low back pain, I am attacking you with cupping, active release technique, laser therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and chucking you on the flexion-distraction table. And all of this is great for pain relief in the moment, but if there is anything you take away from this, it’s that when you are in pain, I am urging you to MOVE.
It’s in our nature to immediately stop what we are doing when we are in pain. We stop moving, we protect ourselves from the pain, we rest and try to recover. There is a time and place for this of course, but eventually, you have got to get moving again.
My goal is to help you move confidently, even when in pain. My promise to you, is that it’s going to help.
So you might be thinking, okay crazy lady, then what should I be doing for movement when I am in 10/10 pain? And my annoying answer will be….it depends!

We will progress the exercises as you start to heal and have less pain, and then we will strengthen and bullet-proof your low back to provide you with resilience and the confidence to move and avoid further bouts of low back pain!
